"My Longhorn Experience
By Collin75044 on 07/22/2008
live in Dallas in an apartment complex near the tollway. The night we moved in my car had been towed, I didn't find this out till the next morning when I had to go to work. The reason my car was towed was because it did not have the resident parking sticker. Needless to say I got my car back and received my sticker in the mail a few days later. At the time I was working fairly early so I would be home around 2;00 pm. After I started working nights I soon found myself parking on the other side of the complex in visitor parking because spots were all filled. Not a problem until I walked up to the house and noticed several cars with no sticker. I just assumed they had not received their stickers yet and let it go. A week of this goes by then a month and these cars still had no stickers. So one evening I had enough and decided to call the towing company to report 9 separate cars parked with no sticker. The lady then asked me which apartment complex I lived at, I told her and she tells me "well sir your complex is on a plan, they have to call and set up a monthly plan that they will then go by and check for cars that month at around 5:00 am". I was a little annoyed and a bit angry, I just left it alone hoping the problem would cease. The problem continues so i decide to contact the office and let them know what the towing company told me, they said "What?, that's ridiculous they are supposed to come out if they are ever called to the complex". "Try contacting them again and letting them know that, if they give you any problems we will contact them." I have yet to see a single car towed from here, I have yet to get in touch with the company again even with repeated attempts to reach them. The phone rings and rings then you get a message telling you the voice-mail box is full. If this rating system would only go to a minus score I could rate them on how I truly feel. This company is a joke, the company is obviously extremely poorly ran and as far as it even being a towing company well lets assume for a moment they even answer the phone you have to convince the person who answers to actually come out. real rating. -10 absolute garbage. So I finally get a hold of someone and she answers the phone in a way that would make your conversation with a telemarketer sound like a Sunday church congregation. An extremely rude woman starts telling me "what aren't you getting, the contract we have does not allow for us to come tow in resident parking". "Are you not making the connection?". Well i'm a waiter and I must say I deal with people all day and I have yet to speak to anyone this way. In the customer service industry you deal with a lot of confused or even just plain dumb people, however I am fully capable of understanding what she tells me. The problem wasn't that, it was the way she spoke to me from the moment she answered the phone. Rude, obnoxious, and extremely unprofessional. She spoke to me in a way I don't ever speak to people, guests at my work nor my friends. She was speaking to me like I was the correlation of everything she hated in the world, I even felt sorry for her. Started thinking to myself wow, what in god's green earth happened to this poor woman to make her behave this way towards people. Of course I didn't say anything because I was so bewildered that she was able to speak to a customer that way. A few moments pass with her basically yelling at me not letting me get a word in. When she finally said "what aren't you getting, are you not making the connection". I was so shocked and just appalled the only words I could utter were "wow your a total ****". Yes the 4 letter word a word reserved for those who are just that, a word used very rarely by men and women more rarely then women are the men. I have used the word one time in my life and that was it. Will I ever use the word again?, well lets just say, if I had to talk to that lady over the phone again, instead of using that word I would just record her being so rude and drive to her work and play it for her boss. FINAL SCORE -100 FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF "

My daughters car was towed from apt complex and her car had a parking sticker. The towing company was very rude. When i called the company they said they did not have the car.It took me making three different calls to them before they said they had the car. When we finally got the car back everything in her trunk was taken and also papers from inside car. The car was locked so how did they get into the car was my question. The lady said they did not get into car and do what we had to do. Very rude. Well if they did not get into car who did. They had the car on there lot. This company is very unprofessional. If i am remembering right this same towing company was the one on the news that was towing illegal and stealing property out of cars."

This company is the most unprofessional business that I have dealt with. My friends car was towed from an apartment complex and when we arrived at Longhorn, she spoke to a rude girl, who seemed to have a communications problem....maybe literacy was a problem, about getting her car out and all she was concerned with and gave her a hard time about was where the car was towed from and other uneccesary information. Finally after my friend had enough of the run around from this girl (I believe she told my friend that her name was Monica)and told her to just run the plates and use her ID so that she could finish this mess and get her car. As we were walking to her car, she yelled out again very rudely, that we could not go to the back and get in the car, I asked her if that was policy and if it was, then I wanted to read it...she told me that I couldnt read it and that I needed to go on the internet to look it up...she then stated that she would close the gate on us and call the police for trespassing....I told her to call them...I then asked her for the owners information and phone number...she again told me to get on the internet to get that information as well. I really hope that the owner has an idea of the unprofessional activities and conversations that take place at their place of business, and really not only consider to do something about it ...but actually take actions. I will be calling the Better Business Bureau, as well as other authoritative agencies, USCIS or otherwise known as INS, ETC. to report this incident and other violations that were seen while at the property. Now who really needs to call who?

I had the same situation happend to me and the service also damaged my car and is now giveing me the run around to get it fixed. I've been told buy an ex-employee for that company that they will give me the run around. The only way I will get something done is buy taking them to court. I'm a singel mother whom don't have the money to be trying to take them to court but I'm going to do what can."

I had my vehicle towed by them some days ago, and since then its been nothing but trouble with them.

I first found my vehicle missing, and per request of my girlfriend (who lives in the apartment complex I had been towed from) I called Longhorn Wrecker.

First off... They lied to me about the whereabouts of my vehicle, the woman on the other end was incredibly rude and very unhelpful. She said they did not have my vehicle in their lot. Immediately I called the Dallas Police, however... and you'll laugh...

The Dallas PD said my vehicle was in fact, picked up by none other than Longhorn... So I called Longhorn again, and guess what...

That same lady, still rude, and still very unhelpful, told me she did NOT have my vehicle... When I told her that I had spoken to the Dallas PD she said she needed all kinds of proof to give me my truck... though she said she didn't have it? I wonder... how could she need proof for MY vehicle, though she said it was NOT in her yard?

Very annoyed, my girlfriend and I drove to the location, and with my keys in hand, I began to press the panic button and sure enough, I heard my vehicle's familiar horn from inside the lot. Oh but when I tried to speak to the lady through the faded and poorly visible glass window, she was too busy to speak to me.

At this point, I called the Dallas PD once again, only this time to report my vehicle stolen. I did not appreciate being lied to TWICE about where my vehicle was. After I told the officer what had been going on, she immediately called Longhorn, and told me that they had my truck.

So basically, its okay to lie to a customer (rather... a victim) but not to a police officer.

When I called the final time, a different woman answered. I had told her of what happened, and she apologized on the other woman's behalf. I'm sorry miss, but too little too late.

I understand I parked in a spot that I was not supposed to park in, however in my defense, there are no signs around that particular area of the parking lot, as the visitor's parking is a few inches from the spot I parked in. Basically, I am acknowledging my faults on my parking choice.

However...
- I did not find it at ALL pleasant to be told the same lie twice in the same day as to where my vehicle was.

- I did not find the woman's tone of voice, unhelpful attitude, and poor people skills admirable, in fact, let me go into saying she's an unpleasant redneck imp of a woman. Oh, and when I asked her name, I was hung up on.

- I did NOT find my anxiety assuring, especially to be told your vehicle may be potentially stolen by someone who was either too lazy, too stupid, or too illiterate to locate my vehicle, only until I had to call the police again to tell them my dilemma.

Again, I understand it was my fault for parking in a location that was not meant for me, but Longhorn Wrecker made it so much more worst. Had they kept proper paperwork, or even spoke to me in a friendly tone of voice, I would not be so angry.

If you live at any apartment complex, business or area where Longhorn Wrecker is on the prowl, I urge you... please be careful, lock your doors, and park in a location you know for a fact is safe. Take nothing to chance. I hope you never have to deal with these people."

worthless piece of crap criminals, never leave your car unlocked if you have a visitor pass hanging from your rear view mirror, they will steal it out of the car then tow and make you pay at least $150.00 and tell you it is not thier problem. ALWAYS lock your car if they tow in that area.
